Bio

Hamid Jafari Shakib, during his artistic activity, has generally been creating works with symbolic themes. Symbols are sometimes rooted in myths and legends, and sometimes take on a modern form and image. What is important in these works are the concepts and narratives that are received beyond these images.
In terms of execution technique, what is most evident is the colorful role that the line element plays in the display of forms, and this issue creates the sense of design in current works. In creating the space of the works, the two factors of antiquity and decoration help to show the nostalgic feeling and cultural approach to the Iranian civilization
In addition to design and painting media, he has continued the search and tendencies of symbolism in other media such as photography, video, and sculpture in order to be able to reveal the capabilities of different mediums in accordance with his ideas
Among his recent activities, he curated and conceived an arrangement called "Banquet" which was performed with the participation of 9 artists, and inspired by Marcel Duchamp's "Ready made". All the works of this arrangement were molded directly from real objects and They were reproduced using artificial stone and displayed in a single work called Banquet.
