Born in Long Island and based in London, Kenny Schachter is an artist, art writer, private dealer, and a veteran collector and curator of contemporary art in galleries and museums whose passionate, versatile presence in the art scene began in the 1980s. He has collaborated with various publishers including Springer Wien New York and MIT Press and is currently a columnist at Artnet News. Schachter has also taught masters programs at graduate levels in universities and lectured worldwide. A recipient of several grants including a Rockefeller supported grant, Schachter’s dealership interest spans from impressionism to modernist and contemporary design and art. He was also friends with late visionary architect Zaha Hadid, whom he commissioned for a number of designs including a concept vehicle known as the Z.Car. He has been profiled in The New York Times Magazine in the US and Independent, Observer, and Telegraph in the UK.
