Sabine Moritz (1969) is a painter and graphic designer based in Cologne, Germany. The atmosphere of her works is to a great extent shaped by her memories from East Germany where she was born and raised before she immigrated to West Germany with her family. Moritz pursued her art studies first at Hochschule für Gestaltung, Offenbach, and later at Kunstakademie, Düsseldorf. Moritz’s works have been exhibited extensively in European art galleries. Her recent solo shows include "Sabine Moritz", Galerie Marian Goodman, Paris, France (2018), "Paintings and Drawings", Pilar Corrias Gallery, London, United Kingdom (2018), and "Eden", Galerie Johann Konig, Berlin, Germany (2017). Nearly a dozen books have been published of her paintings, some accompanied by works of contemporary poets and remarks by Swiss art critic and historian Hans-Ulrich Obrist.
