SARAI Gallery is pleased to announce its return to The Armory Show for the fifth time with a dual presentation featuring Orkideh Torabi (b. 1979) and Morteza Khakshoor (b. 1984), on view in the Presents Section from September 5-7, 2025, with a VIP Preview on September 4.
Through distinct artistic approaches, both artists draw on personal experience and cultural heritage to interrogate the constructs of masculinity. Torabi reimagines traditional ideals through a female lens, subverting dominant norms with satire and vibrant, historically informed imagery. Khakshoor, by contrast, examines masculinity from within, portraying its psychological tensions and contradictions. Together, their work creates space for reflection and contributes to broader conversations around gender and societal norms.
