Reza Nosrati b. 1981

Reza Nosrati (b. 1981, Sanandaj, Iran) is a Tehran-based painter whose work is characterized by poetic intuition, symbolism, and a distinctive personal visual language. He holds a BFA and MFA in painting from Shahed University and is a member of the Association of Iranian Painters.
Nosrati began his artistic journey in his hometown of Sanandaj, where he trained under local masters before relocating to Tehran to pursue academic studies. Over the past two decades, he has presented numerous solo and group exhibitions both in Iran and internationally, including notable shows in Toronto, Istanbul, and Los Angeles.
His paintings employ a deeply symbolic and introspective language, frequently exploring themes of solitude, freedom, and existential reflection. Through recurring motifs such as birds and butterflies, layered surfaces, and textured compositions, Nosrati's work evokes both personal and collective experiences of uncertainty. His art thoughtfully navigates the tensions between freedom and fear, togetherness and solitude, movement and stillness. Each brushstroke and color layer contributes to a nuanced visual space that invites viewers to engage with hidden and revealed meanings, encouraging contemplative reflection.
