Ghasem Mohammadi b. 1977

Ghasem Mohammadi (b. 1977, Iran) is an Iranian painter who received his Bachelor's degree in Painting and a Master's degree in Art Research from the University of Tehran. He has exhibited widely in Iran through both solo and group shows, and his work has also been presented internationally in cities such as Los Angeles, Dubai, and Beirut.
In recent years, Mohammadi has focused on creating landscapes in which human-made structures become central compositional elements. In these works, nature and the manifestations of human civilization-often at odds in the real world-are brought into coexistence and balance. Through a representational yet non-documentary approach, he constructs these spaces not from specific locations but from visual memory and lived experience.
Mohammadi's work transforms the logic of the real world into imaginative structures where scale, material, and composition are reconfigured to generate novel, poetic landscapes. He describes this approach as "fantasy realism"-a realm between reality and imagination where architecture and nature intertwine, and the boundaries between the human-made and natural gradually dissolve into a subtle, evocative ambiguity.
