Now in its fifth edition, the KHOR Art Initiative is an independent, non-profit platform established by SARAI Gallery in the summer of 2020, during the COVID-19 pandemic, to support emerging Iranian artists and introduce them to a global audience. The initiative provides artists with a unique opportunity to present their work for professional review and exhibition without financial or logistical barriers, ensuring that all proceeds go directly to the artists. Over the past editions, many participants have transitioned from emerging talents to recognized figures in prestigious regional and international art scene.
This year, from over 400 applicants, 34 artists were shortlisted by an esteemed international jury، including Mila Askarova, Vida Heidari, and Jawad Zia. The selected artists are recognized not only for individual works but for their professional dedication, originality, and the vision that defines their artistic journey. Each brings a distinctive voice and a coherent body of work, reflecting thoughtful experimentation, reflection, and engagement with the world, and offering a vivid picture of the vitality, diversity, and originality of contemporary Iranian art today.
